Charley Smith
President/CEO
Charley Smith began his career as a special education teacher. He founded Southwest Community
Services, Inc. in 1971 and served in the capacity of Executive
Director for 30 years.
Community Services Foundation was formed by Charley Smith in 1989. In
the late nineties, state and federal regulations changed. In order to
maintain a not-for-profit status, the Foundation and SCS became separate
entities. In late 2000, Charley Smith resigned from SCS in order to serve
as the Foundation's CEO.
Nancy Hannigan
Administrative Assistant
Nancy Hannigan came to Southwest Community Services (SCS) in 1984 with an administrative background. She began working as secretary for the SKILLS Program, a Developmental Training I program that was funded by the State of Illinois. In addition to her secretarial work, Nancy organized the fundraising efforts of the agency for 10 years and also served on the Human Rights Committee 5 years.
In 2002, Nancy resigned from SCS in order to join Community Services Foundation. Her responsibilities include assisting Charley Smith and handling the Foundation's administrative and bookkeeping requirements.
Susan Stefanovich
Marketing Consultant
Susan Stefanovich has a background and degree in marketing. During her career she has worked for consumer product companies, a consulting company, and a software company.
In 2003, Susan began working with Community Services Foundation to create its first newsletter. In 2004, her role expanded to include marketing, development, and creation of the Foundation's web site.
Jeff Davis
Jeff Davis joined Community Services Foundation in March 2002 after having worked at Southwest Community Services. Jeff is responsible for maintaining properties managed by the Foundation.
