Jan 1, 2010 New State Laws Several new Bills were introduced and passed in Illinois during the 2009 Legislative session that take effect January 1, 2010. HB47: This is an amendment to the Freedom of Information Act. It exempts from the Act's copying and inspection requirements data of law enforcement agencies on the mental and physical disabilities of individuals maintained for the safety of responding law enforcement officers, individuals, and the public. HB567: A resident in a community integrated living arrangement home is officially considered a resident at that address for the purposes of voting in an election. HB1035: Disability Awareness. Requires the State Board of Education to promote an annual campaign about disability history and awareness in Illinois. SB1922: 2-1-1 Information Service: Provides "211" as the official Illinois dialing code for access to health and human services information after natural or non-natural disaster.
