It takes hands to build a house, but it takes hearts to build a home, which is why Community Services Foundation (CSF) is proud to present the Honored Society, an opportunity for community members to provide financial support and friendship for adults with disabilities. Through this relationship-based sponsorship program, you’ll form long-term connections with men and women in one of CTF Illinois's (CTF) Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) homes.
CTF operates 34 CILA homes in south suburban Chicagoland and east Central Illinois. In these homes, individuals reside in their community with 2 - 7 peers, where together they work to learn independent living skills like cooking, cleaning, and money management. While each home has its own unique personality and interests, they all share one thing in common: they can't wait to form new friendships and deeper connections within their communities!
Becoming a member of our Honored Society helps empower these individuals to achieve their goals of living an independent lifestyle, and, more importantly, provides them the opportunity to connect with someone new (You!). Joining is as easy as making a three year commitment to annually donate $1,000. After you've made your pledge, we'll match you with a CILA home in your community, and from then on, every penny of your donation will go exclusively towards that specific residence and the amazing people who live there. Bi-annual updates will be sent so you can see an exact breakdown of what your funds are being used for, how much was spent, and the impact made - it's a great way to get to know the people you're helping and see the difference you're making with your very own eyes.
Please consider joining us as we create full, loving homes for adults with disabilities. For more information, please visit the FAQ page or contact our Director of Development, Susan Barnes, at sbarnes@csfil.org.
